Hello everyone,
I have a couple of issues that I need assistance in solving. Firstly, hotmail's web interface isn't that accessible to screen reading programs such as Jaws. I wonder if anyone has had the same experience as I am currently having and can help me? I attempted to set up Outlook on the computer, but Jaws seems to be pretty unresponsive. I have not tried with 14. Any commands or suggestions on how to make Hotmail more accessible would be appreciated.
Secondly, I attend a Christian university and some of the PDFS that I use are very large and not split up into chapters. How could I make these more accessible? Is their a program that I could use, which would automatically generate an accessible PDF all marked up with proper headings, links, and so on?
Thanks for any assistance and happy holidays!
Hotmail and not Outlook.com is vary accessible. Can you post what type of issues you are having?
Next a PBX file can be read easy with the latest Adobe. Some are better prepared then others I'm afraid.
Last, what version of Outlook? Again this program is vary acessible and responsive with Jaws.
Hi,
I am having an issue where I cannot attach a file in hotmail. There is a link or icon that I can't figure out. That is why I was going to use Outlook.
I have the latest version of Jaws. The PDFS don't really read well with Adobe. I can post them here if you want references to them.
Nathan.
i use outlook activly with jaws 13, outlook 2007 and have no issues. I don't use hotmail myself, like my gmail a lot more so not much help there.
I'll post how to attach a file using hotmail if you like.
Quickly, it is a matter of writing your message, then going up where you find attach. You click it and you can either write the file name, if you know if, or browse for it.
Windows live mail would be a great alternitave if you want free, and the features you'd have with Outlook.
I'd like to see the PBX files. In my experience how there created makes the difference.
Example, the PBX file for the iPhone allows you to skip to chapters or sections. Several other files I've used allow you to skip pages easy. Some don't seem to be easy to fill out if you don't have the Adobe Suite, or others are created so that filling them out is easy, and they can be saved.
It just depends. I'd live to see the ones you are talking about.
A quick update.
I haven't used Hotmail for a long time, or I should say tried to attach a file, so just assumed it was the same.
The button is there, and it is suggested you install Silver Light, however, with Jaws I couldn't see it.
I tested it with Jaws 14, and IE 10. Jaws does support Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird, and some others, but I like Outlook best. Windows Live Mail is the free Outlook in my opinion.
I use outlook with Jaws14, OfficeXP here. no problems.
when i've looked at hotmail, i've done so in thunderburg.
I have one other suggestion I have actually tried first to see if it works.
I spoke about Skydrive. If you set up a Skydrive you'll have a folder on your computer you can put stuff in. It can be emailed from that folder by hitting the applications key and selecting sharing.
In sharing you'll find other stuff you can do as well, and you'll now be online in your drive.
Install it by going to www.skydrive.com it links up with hotmail.
Hi all,
How do you use Outlook 2010 on Windows 7? This is the version of the program that I have installed on my computer.
Currently, how I resolve the attachment problem in hotmail is to utilize dropbox.
Yes, some PDFS are easier to navigate than others. Here are all my PDF files below.
If anyone can tell me of a resource to learn Outlook, that would be greatly appreciated.
Nathan.

These may take a long time to download.
Thank you for your suggestions.
Hope everyone had a good New Year celebration.
Wonder why these didn't hyperlink?
I know you could copy and paste these though.
PBX files? Odd. I think they meant PDF in some of these messages.
No, P B X Leo. These are generated using Adobe suiete and are used for many things.
You need adobe reader to open, and read them. Depending on how they were created they are move or less accessible for use.
Even, for the sighted, so can be completed online, but not saved to your computer with the data you have put on them, such as some court documents.
Now, as to Outlook. Under Popular Applications with Jaws, then Microsoft, you'll find a complete list of how to use it. However, I can't see why you even need to read this, because it works pretty much like your hotmail, without the extra stuff. Smile.
If you can't find this in your Jaws let me know and I'll post how.
Hi,
Actually, these are PDF files. Were you successful in opening any of them?
Let me know.
Thanks,
I'll find out how to use Outlook one of these days.
Nathan
I know there both types a PBX and a PDX, but most people seem to use the PBX type. I've been lazy, so I'll try them today.
Okay, I opened a couple and they have much to do with the Bible.
I noticed that my Adobe reader gives me a message about not being able to extract the embedded font, so I'll assume it is some sort of script?
Next the one I looked at was copywritten in 2003, so I'm wondering if the program used was old?
In short, I can open and read them just fine, but some stuff is missing.
Do you know if your reader was setup with the accessibility settings? How far do you get when you try to open these?
Everything is not Jaws friendly, so that might be the issue.
They do open, and can be read though.
